If you really want tips on shooting in sunlight, just watch a Ridley Scott film that is shot mostly during the daytime and outside. The most recent one, Body of lies, really uses daylight creatively in every exterior shot. Just by watching the shot it’s easy enough to see where the sun is, where the bounced light is coming from and where the stage lights are, if any. No better teacher then the best in the biz. P.S for night shots, you can never have too much extension cord…

well you’re always gonna use outlets no matter what. i’d shoot in a place with lights around if that is an issue.

good info; i’ll keep it in mind! im trying to learn alot about lighting, but what if you’re shooting outdoors at night?
I’ve seen lots of lighting tips [for dark situations] that require bright lights behind white umbrellas and stuff. but alot of those bright-ish lights need to be plugged into an outlet and all.
got any tips/suggestions for that? thanks
